Getting Started
Your first path through Adaptive Flow Studio.
You can start working in minutes. This page walks the natural order of the work — from a first workspace to a dashboard you can put in front of leadership — without asking you to learn everything first.
Why this matters to leaders
The fastest way to understand Adaptive Flow Studio is to put a real measure on a chart. The structure underneath — workspaces, dashboards, drivers, learning cycles — exists to help you manage that measure over time, not to slow you down getting started.
The first path
- 1
Create a workspace
A workspace holds one area of work — a strategic priority, a service line, or an improvement effort. Start with one. You can always add more as your portfolio grows.
- 2
Add your data
Upload a CSV, paste rows directly, or import from Excel. Most operational learning needs counts, rates, and timing — not patient identifiers. Use de-identified or authorized data.
- 3
Build your first chart
Start from the question you are trying to answer. A run chart is the right first move when you are testing a change or have limited data; control charts come later as data accumulates.
- 4
Organize into a dashboard
Group related charts into a dashboard built for a specific audience and review — an executive monthly view, a director weekly view, a daily huddle.
- 5
Annotate what changed
Mark when you made a change directly on the chart, so you can see whether the change actually moved the measure.
- 6
Export and share
Download presentation-ready charts for operating reviews, or share dashboards with colleagues and leadership.
My Studio vs Team Studio
My Studio is your personal space for building and learning — your own workspaces, your own data, your own charts. It is the right place to explore, prototype a measure, or manage work that is yours alone.
Team Studio adds shared workspaces, roles and permissions, invitations, and team administration. It is how a group manages an operational portfolio together — with the right people building, reviewing, and aligning around the same measures.
A simple rule of thumb
Start in My Studio to learn the tool and shape a measure. Move to Team Studio when more than one person needs to build, review, or align around the same work.
How different roles use the platform
Not everyone does the same job in Adaptive Flow Studio, and that is by design. A short orientation:
- Leaders and executives review dashboards and operating reviews, ask whether change is producing improvement, and set the priorities that become workspaces.
- Managers and contributors build the charts, attach data, annotate changes, and run the learning cycles.
- Reviewers can see and review the work but cannot edit it — the right fit for stakeholders who need the picture without the risk of changing it.
The Team Studio Leadership Guide covers roles and access in depth.
